The waivers vary on a state-by-state basis. Some states, such as Florida, allowed out-of-state telemedicine prior to the pandemic. Others, such as Kansas and Vermont, passed laws to allow out-of-state practice until 2021. Most states with waivers have been granted by gubernatorial emergency order, and need to be extended (or rescinded) by emergency order, which are re-issued in accordance to state law when required, or ongoing in states where it is allowed.
